Sustainability_AIA Seattle Honor Awards Juror Selection
AIA Seattle’s Honor Awards committee is close to finalizing its list of jurors for next Fall’s Honor Awards program. AIA Seattle COTE would like to support the Honor Awards Committee by identifying potential jurors with significant sustainable design project experience. While most design awards jurors recognize the importance of sustainable design when selecting projects to award, the COTE proposes that at least one of the jurors have a specialty focus in sustainability so that sustainable design attributes of the projects take on more weight in the selection criteria. Please forward suggestions of potential jurors to Carl Dominguez and David Winans, AIA Seattle COTE Co-Chairs by 3/11/11. Carl’s email is carl@ssarch.com and David’s is dwinans@gglo.com.
NW Eco Building Guild Tour Event, April 16-17
Everyone, I just read about an interesting looking self-guided all-day, free tour hosted by the Northwest Eco Building Guild. Others may have gone other years, but I have not so looking forward to it. The Issaquah net-zero multi-family housing project ‘Z-homes’ will be on the tour, a project discussed in a COTE REgeneration event last year.
